Unmasking Brain Injury in Minnesota at the Basilica of Saint Mary
The Alliance's Unmasking Brain Injury in Minnesota project, in association with The Basilica Disability Awareness Ministry, is enjoying a monthlong exhibit at The Basilica of Saint Mary May 4 through June 9. Masks from throughout the project's years-long run are on display along with their accompanying stories. In addition to the mask exhibit, several associated events will be taking place including an afternoon reception and a showing of the Unmasking documentary.

UNMASKING FILM: Tuesday, June 4 at 6:30 p.m. (Doors open at 6 p.m.)
Unmasking, a film by Jed Schlegelmilch documents the history of the Unmasking project from its beginning through the first major exhibit of over 1,400 masks. Unmasking was selected as a Merit Award Winner at the 2016 Los Angeles Awareness Film Festival and was selected to be shown at the 2016 APHA Global Public Health Film Festival. Unmasking was also screened at the 2017 Mespies Film Festival at the Heights Theatre in Minneapolis. Mr. Schlegelmilch will be on hand to answer questions about the film as well as representatives from The Minnesota Brain Injury Alliance. Following the film there will be an opportunity to view the exhibition in the gallery.
